I was excited to see Faster Pussycat, an American rock, sleaze-glam band founded in Los Angeles, California. The crowd energy was high as Faster Pussycat took to the stage and started their set with Where There’s a Whip There’s a Way. Their over an hour-long set included favorite hits like Slip of the Tongue, Bathroom Wall and their chart-topping ballad House of Pain. NOLA, a new song, was also included into the set list as well. Taime vocals sounded absolutely amazing! The rest of the guys kept the roof raising energy high with the crowd as they rocked and had fun across the stage! They are absolutely a fun band to watch and hear live! I highly recommend seeing the show if you have the opportunity! One of the biggest advantages of a weekday wedding is the huge savings in price. Many venues and vendors will offer a discounted rate on weekdays which might find yourself saving all kinds of money all the while still being able to lock in your dream venue of choice at a reasonable rate. Getting married on a Thursday or Friday could also continue the party over into a long weekend #2: Laid back luxury With the increased popularity of outdoor ceremonies and receptions, couples are taking a more casual approach to their wedding day catering with food trucks. Aside from amazing food options like tacos, sliders and laid back ambience, having a wedding food truck can offer your guests a unique culinary experience. This also allows your guests to mingle with others while in line. #3: Pops of color Color, color, color! After a year and a half that was quite somber, when compared to the white and soft neutral palettes wedding couples are feeling more bright and bold color tones from standout centerpieces, linens and dresses #4. Florals From DIY flowers to custom floral arrangements you’ll see more attention-grabbing floral moments with many couples wanting a show-stopping floral arch or large stairwell installation. While Pantone announced Very Peri as their color of the year for 2022, expect to see lots of bright pinks, purples, reds, and oranges throughout the year! #5: Technology
Technology has been the glue that held a lot of things together throughout 2020 including couples leaning on wedding websites and text messages to communicate the numerous changes in their plans to their guests. Even though technology has been a lifesaver, soon-to-be-married couples still want their guests to put their phones away. In fact, 40 percent of couples tying the knot still ask guests to completely disconnect while bearing witness (OSMANSKI, 2022). OSMANSKI, S. (2022, February 11) Newsweek https://www.newsweek.com/tying-knot-these-are-20-most-popular-wedding-trends-2022 Shooting a maternity session is a challenging yet rewarding type of shoot. As your belly gets bigger and grows so does the excitement that you feel as your due date comes closer. Depending on the style of shoot whether nude, implied or an outfit that really accentuates your body and bump like the two you see before you, 70% of it is trust and communication. A woman ready to give birth is one of the most beautiful things we are able to witness in our lifetime and being chosen to capture that is a very humbling experience. While not all pregnancies are the same, generally in most cases the 7th or 8th month of pregnancy, between 30-36 weeks is the optimal time for having your photo session taken.
Always remember to relax, love your body and remember why you are having photos taken in the first place. It is to capture the joy and essence of being pregnant and be able to look back on these first incredible images while being able to share one day with your child. Looking at the amazing images being captured as the shoot goes on will allow you to open up more, trust and engage more in the session while becoming less conscious of your body. Maternity shooting is about trust and capturing the very beauty and essence of a woman. When planning your engagement session, there are so many things to consider; the location, jewelry, hair and makeup, and of course, the outfit! What you decide to wear for your engagement session will drastically impact the look of your photos! Your outfit really does determine the look and feel of your photographs! That is why it is so important to pick an outfit that matches the vision you have for your session. Getting the perfect outfit together for your engagement shoot is an important detail that should not go overlooked. But what should you wear? Here are a few ideas that will make your engagement photos memorable for years to come. Go With the Season First off, make sure your outfit choices are appropriate for the season. Fall, Spring and Summer are popular times for engagement shoots so wearing nice breathable clothing is a must. Shorter hemlines and are also a great look for the warmer weather. Just make sure you know what the conditions will be like when you have your shoot. Make it Personal Your engagement shoot is all about you. Choose your favorite colors to wear, and don’t feel obligated to wear a dress if you don’t want to. Whatever it is that showcases your personal style, go for it. You can always bring other outfits and accessories to switch out. Complement Each Other Choosing clothes that go well with each other can be tricky if you both have a certain style, but there are plenty of ways to make it work. Try to avoid overly expressive patterns as they can pull away from the full effect of your photographs. The best way to make it work is to make sure you are coordinating with your partner ahead of time what each of you will be wearing for the shoot. That way you can go through each other’s choices and find what works best for the both of you. But Not Too Much Complementing each other’s style does not mean full on matching. Too much of one color or pattern can make your looks blend together. Engagement photos are about showing how well you work together without being identical. Pops of bright color work well! Whether it’s in your clothing or your accessories/props, color will add some life and fun to the photo. It will take it from boring to interesting without any effort! Location Matters Where you take your engagement photos will have a strong influence on what you decide to wear. You won’t want to be wearing high heels in the woods. A casual woodsy vibe for anything outdoors is perfect while you might go for a slightly more sophisticated look in a more urban setting. You can always find inspiration on Pinterest, Magazines, on Instagram, or through fashion blog posts. There are so many ideas out there and suggestions made by professionals that will help you get your desired look you wish to achieve for your engagement session.
Aside from the looming chance of rain, Michelle and Brian started there big day at Level 13 church.
Michelle hung out with her mother and bridesmaids in a separate area of the church. Everyone laughed and got excited for the day all morning. Michelle's Chiffon dress was very beautiful! It featured a softly layered skirt and a flirty keyhole neckline encrusted with crystals, and pearls. When it came time to put the dress on, Michelle's mom helped get her in while her bridesmaids helped with the details of jewelry. The most significant piece of jewelry Michelle wore was her stepfather's dog tags. In a different part of the church, Brian and his groomsmen got ready. As they finished, they met us outside for portraits while we waited for Michelle and her bridesmaids to join. Then it was ceremony time! Michelle was escorted down the aisle by her son. The two exchanged vows. The Unity Glass pouring was a beautiful and unique alternative to a sand ceremony. Together, as a family, they chose the colors and design for their beautiful wedding art. Once the crystals are poured and blended together the piece was sent off to be blown. A one of a kind glass piece signifying their love which can be passed down to generations to come. Michelle's mother wrapped their hands in beautiful Red, White, and Blue ribbon signifying their bond. After a sweet ceremony and long-awaited kiss, Michelle and Brian were married! Following a sweet send-off with bubbles from the church, it was finally time for these guys to relax and enjoy the reception held at the Woodburn community center. The cake provided by Sweets So Geek was AWESOMELY built around the Star Wars love story between Han Solo and Princess Lea. After the cake cutting, a delicious meal, toasts, and a shoe game these two danced the night away to the music provided by Own the Night Entertainment. The two of them were beyond excited that they were to celebrate with friends and family! It was such a pleasure and an honor being a part of Michelle and Brian's wedding! Cheers, - Chad Cake - http://sweetssogeek.com Dress - https://www.davidsbridal.com Unity glass - https://glassweddingceremony.com Entertainment - https://www.facebook.com/OwnTheNightdj Amanda and Jeremiah’s wedding was so amazing, from the getting ready, ceremony time, and reception. Amanda and all of the beautiful women in her life got ready for the day at the awesome Chop Shop salon. After some laughs and Mimosa’s, we all headed to Goeglein’s where Amanda was helped in to her beautiful white dress by her mother. Amanda’s dress was very beautiful with multiple layers of lace top with a beautiful floral bridal belt. As the ceremony time drawn near, we took Jeremiah and the twins for some portraits. It was ceremony time! As Amanda was escorted down the aisle, you could see the joyful, proud feelings her father had. Amanda was a show stopper… and a beautiful bride! Amanda and Jeremiah’s marriage was so sweet and unique. The wine box ceremony served as a lasting reminder of the commitments made to one another. The box contained letters describing the good qualities they find in one another, the reasons they fell in love. The letters were sealed in individual envelopes and they have not seen what the other has written. Should Amanda and Jeremiah ever find their marriage facing hardships, they will open this box, sit and drink the wine and beer together, while reading the letters they wrote to one another to be reminded of the reasons why they are together. After a sweet message from their officiant, rings and personalized vows were exchanged, and the two were married! Needless to say, it was a beautiful ceremony! After happily greeting each of their guests, we took bridal party portraits on the beautiful property of Goeglein’s. The reception was beautiful as well. There were so many elements that made the night as special as it was: the live music by Alomar Entertainment (they were amazing), photo booth station provided by Island Photo Booths, dancing, toasts, an AMAZING queso fountain and so much more. We had the wonderful opportunity to witness the love of both Jeremiah’s and Amanda’s families. We are so honored to have shot this fun wedding. We wish you guys a happy marriage! Cheers, - Chad Smith The day started with Amber and her bridesmaids getting ready at her family’s beautiful home in Churubusco. All of the bridesmaids wore an elegant plum purple dress, varying as each one draped across the shoulders in their own special way. The rich tones of the dresses and flowers popped so beautifully against the greens of the outdoor setting of Amber’s family home. As we prepared to leave, Amber read a letter written by Joshua. Amber’s mother and Maid of Honor helped her into her dress. The strapless, sparkled gown with lace detailed backing fit Amber’s personality so beautifully – She looked stunning! After taking some photos of Amber with her mother, and Joshua with his mother and best man, everyone started their entrance for the ceremony.
Everyone took their seats inside the beautiful Saint Vincent De Paul Parish, the ceremony began! After a very gorgeous ceremony, the two were married! We took Amber and Joshua for some portraits, and then headed towards Garret for some bridal party photos. The gloomy, rainy day was no match to all of the joy, love and laughter! Then it was officially party time! The reception was held at the American Legions Post Center where a lovely toast was shared from the best man and maid of honor. The cake was decorated in a glamorous plum purple and gold! The cherry on top was a chocolate fountain surrounded by Strawberries. After enjoying some laughs from the shoe game, there was plenty of dancing, good music, and lots and lots of laughs! We were so happy to capture the day and be a part of Amber and Joshua’s wedding. Absolutely beautiful day, amazing people, and wonderful family! Best of wishes to the both of you! Cheers, - Chad Introducing our newest newlyweds Sarah and Josh!
I have known the both of them from college, so I was very excited to be their photographer at their Dupont Downs wedding. Their wedding was a day filled with love and smiles from beginning to end. The flower girl scattered petals as the music set the mood for Sarah to start her walk down the aisle in her fabulous dress towards Josh. It was a sweet ceremony filled with many smiles and happy tears. Including my own! All the personal touches Sarah and Josh put into their wedding reception was awesome! The both of them made sure to include everyone into their special day from beginning to end with games such as: word search, I-spy, and an anniversary couples dance. One of the most touching moments was Sarah’s speech to her father. This was such a fun wedding to photograph, all the while making my wife and I feel as if we were a part of the family! Thank you Sarah and Josh for a fun day. We wish you guys the happiest marriage! We loved being a part of their big day. -Cheers, Chad |
